Terms of Service

These are the terms for using MatchStack. We're a small team and these are our v1 terms — written by us, in plain English, not lawyer-reviewed enterprise boilerplate. By using MatchStack, you agree to them. If something here doesn't sit right, email us at [email protected] before you rely on the service — we'd rather talk it through.

The Service

MatchStack is a sports league management platform. We provide the software — scheduling, registration, payments, standings, communication — that organizations use to run their own leagues. Each organization runs its own league independently: they set the rules, run the games, and are responsible for their own content and for how they conduct themselves toward their members, players, and guardians. MatchStack is the tool, not the league.

Accounts and Organization Responsibility

You're responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for activity that happens under your account. If you create or administer an organization on MatchStack, you're responsible for the accuracy of the information you publish, for how you handle the data of the players and guardians registered with you, and for complying with whatever laws apply to running your league in your jurisdiction.

Acceptable Use

Use MatchStack for running sports leagues and related activity. Don't use it to harass or abuse other users, to publish content you don't have the right to publish, to try to break into accounts or systems that aren't yours, to interfere with the service for other organizations, or to use the platform for anything illegal. We can suspend or terminate access for accounts that violate this.

Fees and Payments

Organizations pay for MatchStack through a subscription plan, plus a per-registration platform fee on payments collected from their members. All payments are processed by Stripe.

When an organization charges its members — for example, a registration fee — that payment flows through Stripe Connect directly between the organization and its member. MatchStack facilitates the transaction and takes its platform fee, but the organization is the merchant of record for fees it charges its members.

Content Ownership

Organizations own the content and data they put into MatchStack — rosters, schedules, messages, league branding, everything. By publishing content through the platform, you give us a limited license to host, store, and display it as needed to provide the service (for example, showing your public league site to visitors). We don't claim ownership of your content, and we don't use it for anything beyond running the platform for you.

Service Availability

MatchStack is provided "as is." We work hard to keep it reliable, but at this stage we don't offer an uptime guarantee or a formal service-level agreement. We'll do our best to give notice of planned maintenance and to fix problems quickly when they come up.

Termination

You can stop using MatchStack and close your account at any time. We can suspend or terminate an account that violates these terms, that we reasonably believe poses a risk to other users, or for nonpayment of fees owed. Where practical, we'll give notice and a chance to fix the issue first.

Limitation of Liability

MatchStack is provided without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we aren't liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, including issues caused by an organization's own content, decisions, or conduct toward its members.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms as the product evolves. When we make a meaningful change, we'll update the effective date at the top of this page. Continuing to use MatchStack after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
